JBAH TO APPEAL FOR FURTHER MODIFICATION OF BORDER MEASURES UPON ENTRY TO JAPAN

On September 19th, Atsuki Kawakami, President of JBAH visited Hirofumi Murabayashi, Consul-General in Houston to submit a written request to appeal for the following border measures: 

 

1. Resume immigration approval of those foreign visitors who are fully vaccinated by restarting Visa Waver Program
2. Elimination of requirement for negative result of PCR test for those who are fully vaccinated.

 

With the initiative of JBAH, All JCC & JBA Board has also made the same appeal to ambassador in Washington DC in hopes to help streamline procedures for both Japanese and Americans entering Japan, and continue to revitalize economic activities in their respective countries.

 

JBAH continues to take leadership representing the Japanese community in Greater Houston area, and the appeal has become a significant step forward in pursuit of our mission.

On November 4th, Atsuki Kawakami, President of JBAH visited Masaya Sagawa, Acting Consul-General in Houston to submit a written request to appeal for the following border measures: 

 

1. Exemption from the quarantine period upon entry to Japan for those who have completed vaccination.
2. Elimination of restrictions on the use of public transportation upon entry to Japan for those who have completed vaccination.
3. Resume immigration approval and visa issuance for those who have completed vaccination.
4. In addition to only Japanese government-approved vaccines, those who have completed CDC-approved vaccines are subject to the above (1), (2), (3).

 

The Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of New York as well as All JCC & JBA Board have also made the same appeal to ambassadors in NY and Washington DC in hopes to help streamline procedures for both Japanese and Americans entering Japan, and continue to revitalize economic activities in their respective countries.

 

As JBAH started the year 2021-2022 this October, the appeal has become a significant step forward in pursuit of our mission.

Donation of $25,000 was sent to Houston Harris County Winter Storm Relief Fund  on 3/18/21, and the remaining donation of $2,000 will be sent to the same fund later this month.

Total donation will be $27,000.
